Visit Madeira lists Carnival for 3 to 14 February 2027. The Cortejo Alegórico runs through the streets of downtown Funchal on 5 and 6 February, and the Cortejo Trapalhão, a satirical parade, takes place on Carnival Tuesday.
A children's Carnival parade is held on the morning of the Thursday before Carnival Day along the central square of Avenida Arriaga. A Carnival Solidário march also follows Avenida Arriaga to the Jardim Municipal, with a show afterwards.
